Research and development

Hardware

HW is designed at our Helsinki premises. Typically, equipment down to schematic level is designed in-house. Tools include schematic editors, broad bandwidth oscilloscopes and analysers. EMC pre-compliance testing is partly carried out in-house, partly subcontracted. Final compliance testing is completed in authorised, official test laboratories.

Software

Our SW supports the company product lines. Resource allocation is spread by subcontracting SW designers when feasible. The main focus of our work is on embedded software for various Human Machine Interface kernels.

Mechanics

Typical mechanics design consists of user-defined, special equipment cases and their fixing mechanisms. Special processes, such as casting and corresponding tool design are sub-contracted. Where appearance is of essential importance GENERA co-operates with external industrial designers.

Flexible Medium Scale Manufacturing

All manufacturing phases - from component logistics to factory testing and delivery- are carried out in-house. Our production department handles challenging manufacturing, including mechanics. Even where mass production is involved, only routine work is subcontracted.

Assembly Lines

GENERA has two assembly lines, a conventional component welding line and a surface mount line. Special processes, such as varnishing, are also completed in-house.

Verification

A series of visual, electrical and factory testing assures the high standard and reliability of GENERA's products.

Maintenance

Every customer has his own contact person at GENERA, some of whose responsibilities are minimising turn-around times, giving update reports and taking care of overall maintenance management for that particular client.
